MASTER SCHEDULER - Military Veterans

Profile

Position Purpose The Level 2 Scheduler has the responsibility of establishing, managing, reviewing and maintaining a valid schedule for selected items. This position will have a great impact on internal/external customer service, supply chain, inventory, material and capacity planning and requires minimal supervision. Essential Functions nIdentifies, negotiates and resolves conflicts with respect to material and capacity availability and order-promising integrity nSchedules raw material/purchase components through product release (i.e. billet to box) nPlans, schedules, and releases Production, Aftermarket (Repairs and Spares), NPI, PPAP and interplant orders nReviews and responds to all MRP messages on a daily bases as required nManages external operational work nIdentifies initial constraints and assists team with possible corrective actions nAssists leadership team with managing constraints and the utilization of resources and overtime nSupports transition plans and updates item planning parameters (interplants, material ownership codes, lead times, lot sizes, etc.) accordingly nAssists teams with NCRs, ATRs, and/or RW (rework) Orders. nQuotes deliveries dates for sales requests within the defined lead time nDevelops and maintains communication channels between various departments to maintain the production flow rates nActively works on reducing inventory/ lead times, production improvements, and efficiencies nActively looks for improvements in the planning/ scheduling process in addition to maintaining part parameters such as planner codes, lead times and safety stocks nCreates planning BOM's and looks for ways to add phantoms and change BOM structure to improve production efficiency nWorks with both sales and operations globally to provide timely feedback regarding all requested schedule changes nEstablishes a working line of communication with all company functions nCommunicates when demand cannot be met and recommends alternatives on how the requested demand could be satisfied nReleases and manages production orders nReviews, identifies and resolves material shortages with the appropriate supplier(s) nInteracts with customers and sales in SIOP meetings nWorks with Demand Management to drive changes in forecasting nUnderstands capacity levels in production nWorks with commodity groups in sourcing materials nProactively works line of balance (Supply plan) with both internal and external suppliers nActively engaged in Continuous Improvement projects nGuides and assists new Schedulers, Planners, SQE's, SMs, and/or Supervisors in the planning processes nParticipates in projects (e.g. NPI, PLC, etc.) nCollaborates with IT groups to test changes and updates in MRP system nCreates reports to help management in analyzing trends, production, efficiencies, etc. nFacilitates, resolves, priorities conflicts between different areas such as Sales, Demand Management and Productionn Other Functions nActively participates in Daily Gemba with Product Line Team to track standard WIP, maintain Heijunka and Visual Management boards nCoordinates Engineering changes nActively works with production line and external suppliers to resolve material issues (shortages, emergency customer demands, etc.) nAt some locations may perform material planning and buying functions nParticipates in various PUN groups as required nAt some locations, may also require compliance to government contractingn Knowledge/Skills/Abilities nUnderstands and maintains a master production schedule with the ability to use and revise that schedule to achieve business objectives n Solid knowledge of WISE/Cincom/SAP or other ERP systems nSolid knowledge of Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRPII) nSolid knowledge of Planning functions/roles nSolid communication skills, both verbal and written across all levels of the organization nSolid detail orientation and organizational skills. Ability to schedule several production lines at the same time. nSolid process and product knowledge nIntermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills nSolid knowledge of Woodward replenishment programs nAbility to contribute to Continuous Improvement projects and problem solvingn Education or Formal Training nBachelors degree/International equivalent or a combination of related work experience preferred nAPICS (Association of Production and Inventory Control Society) or other International professional certification helpful. nGreenbelt Certification preferred.n Experience Required nWith a degree, a minimum of 3 years experience in a scheduling role required; without a degree a minimum of 7 years experience in a scheduling role required nManufacturing processes knowledge desired nSome travel may be requiredn Materials and Equipment Used Working Environment/ Physical Activities General Office area.
