The Army, established on 1775 by the Continental Congress, is the oldest and largest Military service. The Coast Guard’s primary goal is enforcement of the law on boating safety, sea rescue, and illegal immigration control. This branch of the military consists of boats, aircraft, ships, shore control with 7,000 active officers and enlisted personnel numbering 29,000.
